After seeing so many bread making recipes in other peoples blog, i couldn’t help but be tempted about it. My saliva is overflowing and my hands is getting itchy.

However, i still have some reservations as i have never bake bread before. Plus, i don’t have a breadmaker, and that means that i have to do it by hand. It dampens my enthusiasm a bit.

But, as they say, you’ll never know if you never try. So, like the advertistment slogan, i went ahead and just do it!

Orange Buns

(adapted from Pure Enjoyment)

Ingredients:

4 g                   active dry yeast

20 g                white sugar

10 g                margarine

40 ml             milk

50 ml             orange juice

1/3                  egg

2 g                   salt

1 g                   orange zest

150 g              bread flour

Method:

1.     Scald the milk, add sugar and salt to it. When it is lukewarm add the yeast to it.

Let it rest for 10 mins.

2.     Mix well, add about 1/3 of flour and beat well. Add egg, butter, orange juice and

         orange zest.

3.     Add flour mixing well after each addition, until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

4.     Knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hr or

until doubled, punch dough down to release air.

5.     Divide dough into 3 balls, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Make into buns or small

bread loaf and rise 1 hr covered with cling wrap.

6.     Brush the top with margarines and sprinkle with sugar.

7.     Bake at 180 °C 10 minutes or until done.
