Yaki Udon

Few days ago, i browse My Kitchen’s blog again and saw her post on yaki udon. And i thought to myself, why not?

I want to eat it too! However, since i don’t have yaki soba sauce, i improvised and cook yaki udon my own way. Here’s the recipe.


Yaki Udon

(makes one serving)



1 pkt                   udon (NTUC Brand)

some                  baby corn, sliced into half

some                  sweet beans, remove ends

1 slice                 ham, sliced

some                  small prawn, deshelled

1 tbsp                 dark soy sauce

1 tbsp                 light soy sauce

1/2 tbsp            sesame oil

150 ml               water

1 tbsp                 garlic oil



1.    Mix dark and light soy sauce, water and sesame oil until well blended. Set aside.

2.    Heat garlic oil, fry baby corns and sweet beans. Stir 1 minute.

3.    Add prawns and ham and stir fry until prawns change colour.

4.    Add udon and water mixture and fry until water dries up.

5.    Remove from heat and serve.
